Handyman/Woman - Maintenance and Repair Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Handyman/Woman to join our team at Deluxe Oak Bay Services Inc. as a Maintenance and Repair Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.
Key Responsibilities- General Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Operate Industrial Equipment: Use industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
- Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers to prevent overflow and maintain a clean environment.
- Facilities Maintenance: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and well-maintained appearance.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Contractor Coordination: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
- Appliance Repair: Perform minor repairs on appliances to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks to ensure the property is secure and safe for occupants.
- Customer Service: Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants and provide excellent customer service.
- Team Leadership: Supervise other workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Physical Demands: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
- Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain a well-manicured appearance.
- Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Work Conditions: Work under pressure, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, and work in physically demanding environments.
- Dependability: Demonstrate dependability and reliability in completing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Flexibility: Show flexibility in adapting to changing situations and priorities.
- Initiative: Demonstrate initiative in taking on new tasks and responsibilities.
