We are seeking a skilled Handyman/Woman to join our team at Deluxe Oak Bay Services Inc. as a Maintenance and Repair Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.
Key Responsibilities- Sweeping and Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and ensure that all areas are kept clean and free of debris.
- Window and Surface Cleaning: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Contractor Coordination: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, and ensure that all work is completed to a high standard.
- Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances, and ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
- Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks, and ensure that all areas are secure and free from hazards.
- Customer Service: Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants, and provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience.
- Team Leadership: Supervise other workers, and provide guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Physical Demands: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
- Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and ensure that all outdoor areas are well-maintained.
- Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, and ensure that all areas are clean and hygienic.
- Weather Conditions: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas, and ensure that all areas are safe and accessible.
- Work Environment: Work under pressure, and be able to handle repetitive tasks and heavy loads.
- Physical Demands: Be physically demanding, and able to bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
- Dependability: Be dependable and reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
