Job Title: Handyman/Woman

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman/Woman to join our team at Deluxe Oak Bay Services Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks, including repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of our facilities. This is a permanent position, working 30 to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as operating industrial vacuum cleaners.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Supervise other workers and perform safety and security checks.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.

  • Dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, and reliability are essential qualities for this role.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle repetitive tasks, heavy loads, and physically demanding work.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work under pressure and handle repetitive tasks. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift heavy loads.
