About the Position

The Clinic Nurse is a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with opiate dependency. As a compassionate and caring individual, you will work closely with patients and their families to develop and implement personalized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate professionally, ethically, and with integrity within the guidelines and standards of the Ontario College of Nurses.
  • Dispense and administer medications, including methadone, suboxone, narcotics, and injections, as delegated by a licensed physician.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate treatment plans to support patients.
  • Perform ECGs, venipuncture, urine drug screening supervision, and testing, as well as administer injections and ensure proper documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient needs, changes in status, and emergency situations.
  • Provide comprehensive program information to current and prospective patients.
  • Schedule appointments, enter information, and manage data and documents.
  • Update and maintain patient information within Electronic Medical Records.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Previous experience in addiction treatment and/or a similar field.
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario.
  • Completion of yearly CNO Quality Assurance certification.
  • Provision of a recent and acceptable Criminal Reference Check.
  • Phlebotomy and Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) skills are an asset.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification is required.
  • Strong commitment to working with individuals living with addiction and mental health.
  • Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Knowledge of Harm Reduction principles and ability to work with clients experiencing addiction and mental illness.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft platform, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
