The Automotive Service Specialist collaborates closely with the Automotive Service Advisor, Service Manager, Tower Operator, and fellow team members to foster a customer-centric atmosphere. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components of vehicles in a dynamic service center equipped with cutting-edge technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold a professional appearance through appropriate uniform, hygiene, and grooming standards.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on vehicles as per customer requests.
- Perform road tests adhering to safe driving practices.
- Provide detailed, prioritized estimates for any additional work required.
- Communicate with the Service Advisor and customers regarding any further maintenance needs.
- Explain repair procedures directly to customers when necessary.
- Carry out daily inspections of the service bays.
- Guide apprentices by overseeing and validating their work for accuracy.
- Contribute to increasing service department sales.
- Maintain and ensure that both company-owned and personal tools and equipment are in excellent condition.
- Stay informed about the operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of domestic and imported vehicles.
- Complete additional tasks as required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Possession of a valid mechanic's license.
- Valid driver's license in the province of employment.
- Capability to deliver professional customer service and support to colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve shared objectives.
- Maintain composure and efficiency in a fast-paced work environment.
- Complete tasks according to provided instructions and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills.
