About the Role:
GardaWorld is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our team. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a critical role in promoting a positive and productive work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and providing strategic support to management and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to employees and management on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace investigations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Strategic Support: Provide strategic support to management and employees on employee relations matters, including developing and implementing employee relations strategies and programs.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with employees, management, and other stakeholders on employee relations matters.
- Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conflicts, grievances, and performance management issues.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a unionized environment. Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or Labour Relations or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Employee relations, including principles and best practices, current theories, and trends.
- Experience working within federal jurisdiction is ideal.
- Proven experience of working with collective agreements or arbitral jurisprudence.
- Negotiation and dispute resolution methods and techniques.
- Proven ability in providing advice and support to employees, operations, and management to address/resolve routine labour or employee relations issues and situations.
Working Conditions:
20% to 30% of this position is travel-based, within Canada. Higher travel requirement during collective bargaining negotiations. Most of the time is spent in an office environment with frequent opportunity to move about. Occasionally, moves/lifts light objects.
