Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, promote, safeguard, and enhance community health while preventing diseases and injuries.
  • Utilize population-focused strategies grounded in health promotion theories and empirical evidence.
  • Design, execute, and assess health promotion initiatives.
  • Comply with the Public Health Core Competencies as established by relevant health authorities.

Role Overview:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including data analysis and environmental evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee evidence-based health promotion programs that align with public health standards.
  • Exhibit expertise in health promotion practices, focusing on population health, health determinants, and equity.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team within the health unit.
  • Facilitate community engagement and enhance community capacity around shared health objectives.
  • Review, create, and/or procure health promotion materials.
  • Apply social marketing and communication strategies in the development and evaluation of health communication efforts.
  • Contribute to the formulation of health-related policies and advocacy that reflect community priorities.
  • Assist in identifying and prioritizing improvement areas across quality dimensions.
  • Engage in systematic quality improvement initiatives, defining objectives, testing change ideas, and measuring outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Health Education, Health Promotion, or related sciences) or equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience relevant to the position.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in standard software applications.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Commitment to health and safety practices.
