Position Overview:

The role involves conducting comprehensive assessments that include data analysis, evidence evaluation, and environmental scanning to inform health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, assess, and manage evidence-based health promotion initiatives that align with public health standards.
  • Exhibit expertise in health promotion practices focusing on population health, health determinants, and equity.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Health Unit.
  • Encourage community engagement and enhance community capabilities regarding shared health objectives.
  • Review, create, and/or source health promotion materials.
  • Utilize social marketing and communication strategies in the formulation, execution, and assessment of health communication plans.
  • Contribute to the development of health-related policies and advocacy efforts that address community needs.
  • Assist in identifying and prioritizing improvement areas across quality dimensions such as safety, effectiveness, efficiency, timeliness, person-centeredness, and equity.
  • Engage in a systematic quality improvement approach with colleagues, defining purpose and scope, testing and implementing change ideas, and measuring impact.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • A four-year university degree in a relevant field (Health Education, Health Promotion, or Sciences) or equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience to gain familiarity with the role's scope.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in standard corporate software and computer literacy.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Commitment to health and safety practices.

Salary: Competitive, with an initial adjustment for the first six months.
