Position Overview

The Director of Total Rewards and Technology will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Metro Supply Chain. Reporting to the Vice-President of Human Resources, this position will oversee critical areas within Total Rewards, including Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Pension, and HR Technology. The successful candidate will be tasked with the development, implementation, integration, analysis, and execution of comprehensive total rewards programs that encompass total compensation, health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and other related initiatives. This role also ensures that compensation programs are administered consistently in accordance with internal policies and governmental regulations, including Pay Equity.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, and Benefits, supported by relevant certifications such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS).
  • Proficient technical skills with experience in HRIS and Workforce Management solutions; familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce and UKG is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of strategic development and financial analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation planning methodologies, principles, and salary administration practices, along with awareness of market best practices.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Excel (focused on building cost models and reports), MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lead, organize, prioritize, and monitor multiple projects effectively.
  • Proven capability to foster collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in compensation and benefits analysis and implementation.
  • Commitment to staying current with industry trends and providing sound recommendations to support organizational growth.
  • High integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Oversee compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, and incentive plan design.
  • Research, develop, and evaluate various compensation and benefit programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of compensation and benefits programs with Metro's business objectives and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist in the design and communication of compensation-related policies and procedures.
  • Lead the implementation of annual compensation, benefits, and pension programs.
  • Conduct market analyses to inform total rewards strategy and support salary budget planning.
  • Provide support for benefits administration and manage data accuracy and audits.
  • Develop strong relationships with outsourced providers and participate in benefit plan renewals.
  • Establish and maintain plan documents and communication materials, promoting employee awareness of total rewards programs.
  • Lead the total rewards team and support regional HR business partners with compensation and benefits insights.
  • Stay informed of market trends and regulatory developments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
