Job Title: Registered Pharmacy Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Bayshore HealthCare. As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in maintaining federal, provincial, and local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps).
- Enter prescriptions into the prescription software (Kroll) and fill/bill such prescriptions.
- Schedule patients for repeat medications.
- Prepare compounding sheets for the preparation of medication.
- Program infusion pumps for medication delivery and prepare other devices.
- Prepare and label medications as allowed by law.
- Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from prescribers, ensuring prescription completeness.
- Package and dispense prescription medications after a pharmacist has reviewed and approved them.
- Check the final compounded sterile product for the absence of particulate matter and container integrity.
- Ensure prescription(s) are matched to the right delivery in good timing to shipping.
- Fulfill refill medications through the prescription software (Kroll).
- Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain pharmacy records, including filing and documenting required information on dispensing records.
- Clean work areas routinely in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Document activities using required paperwork (logs).
- Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance activities, education programs, and department/branch meetings.
Requirements:
- Pharmacy Technician Certificate/Diploma from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Registered with the College of Pharmacists and in good standing.
- Experience in a busy community pharmacy setting or specialty pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Organized and disciplined; basic computer skills.
Salary Range: $54,600 - $58,500
