About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cook's Helper at AFC Sushi. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Food Preparation: Portion and wrap foods, prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet the quality standards of our restaurant.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our staff and customers.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, ensuring that all necessary items are readily available for food preparation and service.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that all waste is disposed of in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment for our staff and customers.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: Will train, and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges is essential.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers is essential.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
