About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Rocky Shawarma. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Handling: Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items, including stock refrigerators and salad bars, using manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and free of clutter.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of kitchen equipment, including sharpening kitchen knives and cleaning and polishing floors.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with physically demanding tasks, repetitive tasks, and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Qualities: Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and take direction.
