Are you detail-oriented with a practical approach? We are seeking a full-time Estimator to contribute to our operations at the Red Deer Home Centre.

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after a specified period.

Availability: Must be available on weekdays and weekends, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret construction documents, including plans and blueprints, to provide clients with detailed estimates of required building materials. Recommend modifications to plans when necessary to ensure compliance with building codes and enhance structural integrity.
  • Assist in the tendering process by supplying quantities, pricing, and descriptive details related to construction projects. Offer product suggestions to enhance design quality and efficiency.
  • Create and manage a Vendor Reference Database to track material specifications, including availability, costs, and lead times, while exploring alternative suppliers for specialized materials.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Building Inspectors, Designers, Material Suppliers, and local trade associations, while keeping informed about industry developments.
  • Conduct site visits and engage in outside sales activities.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A valid Driver's License is mandatory, and an acceptable driver's abstract must be provided upon hiring.
