In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise to generate precise construction estimates for various design-build projects by collecting data and evaluating critical factors. As a member of our general contracting team, you will engage in diverse projects, enhancing your communication, numerical, and organizational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities- Conduct quantity take-offs, price work and materials, and finalize tenders.
- Prepare estimates for residential multistory buildings, commercial, agricultural, or industrial structures.
- Gather specifications and drawings for open tenders.
- Provide necessary sub-trades with essential drawings and project requirements.
- Evaluate designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness; suggest alternatives when applicable.
- Review project plans and specifications, collaborating with team members to confirm the complete scope.
- Utilize estimating software, Excel spreadsheets, and construction estimating tools effectively.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
- Minimum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility and willingness to work overtime.
- Understanding of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, structural, and exterior envelope.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Local candidates or those willing to relocate to Central Alberta.
- Familiarity with precast concrete.
- Graduation from a recognized construction program or equivalent.
- Personality and behavior assessments to enhance individual and team success.
- Overtime compensation after 8 hours a day / 44 hours a week.
