About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Associate Mortgage Underwriter to join our Third Party Residential Underwriting Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the underwriting and credit decision process by reviewing documentation and applying sound due diligence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers to build loyalty and trust
  • Interact with external partners to collect required documents and verify accuracy
  • Review and verify documentation related to income, down payment, and property using sound due diligence and regulatory guidelines
  • Escalate any documentation issues to the Underwriter for review and sign-off
  • Document clear and complete notes within the mortgage underwriting system
  • Respond to inquiries within established turnaround times
Requirements
  • Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience required
  • Previous experience within Financial Services sector preferred
  • Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment required
