About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating mortgage and loan applications, ensuring compliance with organizational processes, and making sound credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate mortgage and loan applications
  • Coordinate and analyze credit applications
  • Liaise with default insurers and appraisal service providers
  • Build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Verify data and information on mortgage applications
  • Resolve escalated credit issues

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Mortgage Underwriter capacity
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • Understanding of the mortgage industry and lifecycle
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and lending operating systems

What We Offer

Peoples Trust offers a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $63,000 and $68,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience of the chosen candidate.
