Residential Mortgage Underwriter Role:

We are seeking a skilled Residential Mortgage Underwriter to support our underwriting and credit decision process. The successful candidate will review all required documentation and apply sound due diligence to ensure accurate and compliant mortgage decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners.
  • Collect and review required documentation related to income, down payment, and property.
  • Verify accuracy of documentation and escalate any issues to the Underwriter for review and sign-off.
  • Document clear and complete notes within the mortgage underwriting system.
  • Respond to inquiries within established turnaround times.

Requirements:

  • Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience within the Financial Services sector, preferably in the Mortgage industry.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume processing environment with tight turnaround times.
