Director of Information Technology

The Calgary Zoo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Information Technology to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, operation, security, and retirement of all Calgary Zoo information technology.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the IT Team: Oversee the IT team, including staff, contractors, and vendors, to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services to support the Calgary Zoo's business objectives.
- Manage IT Budget: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with the Calgary Zoo's strategic goals.
- Develop IT Strategy: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement an IT strategy that supports the Calgary Zoo's mission and objectives.
- Oversee IT Operations: Ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems, including network, server, and desktop operations.
- Ensure Cybersecurity: Develop and implement effective cybersecurity measures to protect the Calgary Zoo's IT systems and data.
- Provide Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the IT team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality IT services.
- Minimum 15 Years of IT Experience: Proven experience in leading IT teams and developing IT strategies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent: A degree in computer science or a related field is required.
- Master of Business Administration or Equivalent: A master's degree in business administration or a related field is an asset.
- ITIL, PMP, CBAP, CISSIP, etc.: Possession of relevant certifications, such as ITIL, PMP, CBAP, or CISSIP, is preferred.
