About the Role

Challenger Motor Freight Inc. is a leading North American freight transportation company seeking a highly skilled Treasury Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate cash flow reporting and forecasts for company management, analyzing our liquidity to calculate our borrowing availability, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze daily AR Roll-Forward and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and update extended spending, receipts, and billing forecasts for budget and ongoing planning.
  • Verify and pay payroll taxes, and communicate with internal staff on bank discrepancies and outstanding items.
  • Review and analyze the monthly borrowing base certificate, and present accurate forecasts to the Director of Finance.
  • Maintain tracking records for Debt and Leases, and bookkeeping for CJT Investments.
  • Respond to audit inquiries regarding all cash/bank related issues, and calculate and allocate line of credit monthly interest to respective entities.
  • Act as a liaison to the bank for various banking issues, and perform other banking tasks and projects as required.
Requirements
  • College diploma or university degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2-3 years' of relevant working experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, and working knowledge of MS Office suite of products.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize patterns and analyze large sets of historical data to continuously improve forecasting tools.
  • Strong self-discipline, initiative, and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
