Position Overview

The Healthcare Administrative Coordinator plays a vital role within our team, collaborating closely with all healthcare professionals in the department. This position is accountable for managing reception duties, scheduling patient appointments, performing word processing tasks, and executing various clerical responsibilities, all while reporting to the Department Manager. The individual in this role exemplifies the core competencies of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Healthcare Administrative Coordinator operates under the guidance of nursing staff and physicians to facilitate patient appointments and carry out clerical tasks. This role also includes reception duties, requiring effective communication with patients both over the phone and in person.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year of clerical experience in an acute care healthcare setting is required.
• Proven reliability in attendance is essential.
• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing medical electronic health record systems is necessary.
• Current experience with computerized provider/physician order entry (CPOE) is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities are essential.
• A willingness to learn and innovate is expected.
• A commitment to exceptional customer service and teamwork is crucial.
• Analytical skills related to hospital operations are important.
• Effective organizational and prioritization skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are necessary.
• Excellent teamwork capabilities are essential.

Educational Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 is mandatory.
• A Medical Terminology Certificate is required.
• A Diploma in Medical Office Administration or relevant post-secondary diploma from an accredited institution is preferred.
