Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek a Civil Engineer with expertise in municipal land development and infrastructure to enhance our team in Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will have the chance to lead projects and manage a diverse range of civil engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a variety of projects, including infrastructure enhancements and subdivision developments, focusing on the design and construction of essential services such as water, sewer, drainage, and transportation systems.
  • Provide expert guidance to a team of Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and designers, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive design drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct project cost estimates, analyses, design reviews, and prepare detailed reports, proposals, and contract documents.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with clients, team members, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure project completion within designated timelines and budgets while adhering to high-quality standards.
  • Create and manage a project work plan that includes schedules, milestones, controls, and risk assessments.
  • Proactively address performance, scope, and scheduling challenges as they arise.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Industrial Systems Engineering (candidates from other disciplines with relevant experience are encouraged to apply).
  • Must be registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Saskatchewan.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in municipal engineering and project management.
  • Experience in materials testing (soils, concrete) and/or structural design and analysis is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic analysis and design and/or process-mechanical design is also beneficial.
  • Strong project management, technical, and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent technical writing skills demonstrated through the preparation of reports and proposals.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; capable of mentoring junior engineers and designers.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
