Engineering Design and Drafting Technology Instructor

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructor to teach Engineering Design and Drafting Technology courses at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering design and drafting, as well as experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Engineering Design and Drafting Technology courses, including AutoCAD, Revit, and other CAD software related to structural, municipal, mechanical, and manufacturing disciplines.
- Develop and deliver curriculum that meets the needs of students and industry partners.
- Manage classroom and lab activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students.
- Follow academic regulations and policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
- Accommodate students with special learning needs.
- Participate in the Learners, Instruction and Fundamentals of Teaching (LIFT) program.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current with industry and educational requirements.
- Practice good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Work cooperatively with program head and colleagues in an interdependent team environment.
- Prepare and use appropriate delivery methods for instructing courses as assigned.
- Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress.
- Make necessary curriculum adjustments to course content.
- Support the program by attending staff, program, and division meetings, and recruitment events.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Related degree or diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Member of or eligible for certification with APEGS as a P.Eng., or with TPS as an A.Sc.T.
- Two years' recent/relevant Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related experience.
- Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
- Effective communication skills (written and oral).

- Effective instructional ability.
- Demonstrates valuing diversity.
