Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Switchboard Operator to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Switchboard Operator, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the multi-line phone system and other call systems to manage incoming and outgoing calls
  • Provide accurate and timely information to patients, visitors, and staff
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and databases
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless communication and service delivery
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of hospital services, policies, and procedures
Requirements
  • Grade 12 plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to type 45 wpm
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
