IT Helpdesk Technician Role

The City of Kamloops is seeking a skilled IT professional to join our team as an IT Helpdesk Technician. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues for internal and external clients, providing support for hardware, software, network, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for IT-related issues via phone, email, or in-person
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network problems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues
  • Document and maintain accurate records of technical issues and resolutions
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in information systems or related field
  • Microsoft certifications in Microsoft 365 or equivalent
  • Experience managing Windows and iOS endpoints, IP LAN and Wi-Fi Communication, DNS and DHCP, Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange Online, and more
  • BC Driver's licence - Class 5
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7 hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, 35 hours per week
