Join Our Team as a Junior Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Process Engineer to join our team at Saint-Gobain. As a Junior Process Engineer, you will play a key role in standardizing and documenting processes throughout our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) project teams to analyze process variations and identify losses.
  • Create assembly/process flow charts for manufacturing activities.
  • Design and develop new process systems, revise existing processes, and develop and coordinate projects that contribute substantially to plant profitability.
  • Create Work Instructions for manufacturing activities.
  • Monitor program cost activity to achieve an "in budget" result.
  • Identify and analyze inefficiencies in the manufacturing process to ensure early detection and resolution; suggest preventative steps for correction.
  • Assess processes with respect to their effectiveness.
  • Monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.
  • Assess health/safety and environmental impact for the health and safety of both company staff and the wider community.
  • Provide observations and take measurements directly; collect and interpret data from other technical staff and operators involved.
  • Ensure that new and current equipment and processes are in accordance with federal and provincial regulations.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree in an appropriate field, e.g., B. Eng (Mechanical or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a process engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of taking at least one project through launch plus at least one year of subsequent production.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to produce succinct reports/presentations to communicate the status of assigned projects/tasks.
  • A tenacious personality that will not let an issue be left unresolved.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings.
  • Quality Control background including problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Sound technical background (hands-on) with a logical deductive reasoning approach.
  • Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines, and time management techniques.
  • Conviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement in the department and company as a whole.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
