We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Process Engineer to join our team at Saint-Gobain. As a Junior Process Engineer, you will play a key role in standardizing and documenting processes throughout our manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:- Participate in WCM project teams to analyze process variations and identify losses.
- Create assembly and process flow charts for manufacturing activities.
- Design and develop new process systems, revise existing processes, and develop projects that contribute to plant profitability.
- Create work instructions for manufacturing activities.
- Monitor program cost activity to achieve an "in budget" result.
- Identify and analyze inefficiencies in the manufacturing process to ensure early detection and resolution.
- Assess processes for effectiveness.
- Monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.
- Assess health, safety, and environmental impact for the health and safety of company staff and the wider community.
- Provide observations and take measurements directly; collect and interpret data from technical staff and operators.
- Ensure new and current equipment and processes comply with federal and provincial regulations.
- Engineering degree in an appropriate field, e.g., B. Eng (Mechanical or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a process engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience of taking at least one project through launch plus at least one year of subsequent production.
- Lean Manufacturing experience an asset.
- Proven ability to create and execute project plans that achieve identified targets.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to produce succinct reports/presentations to communicate project status.
- A tenacious personality that will not let an issue be left unresolved.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings.
- Quality Control background including problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Sound technical background (hands-on) with logical deductive reasoning approach.
- Interest in developing technical skills through internal and external training.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines, and time management techniques.
- Conviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement in the department and company.
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
