Job Title: Relief Personal Attendant - Autism Support

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Relief Personal Attendant to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). This is a relief position that requires flexibility and a commitment to supporting students with autism.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide assistance to teachers and other professionals in the delivery of regular or alternate programs of study for students with autism. This role involves working collaboratively as an advocate for students and as a member of the school-based team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to students with autism in a classroom setting
  • Assist teachers and other professionals in the delivery of programs and services
  • Function as an advocate for students and a collaborative member of the school-based team
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
  • Assist with behavioral support and crisis intervention
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate Program
  • Completion of POPARD program (30 hours)
  • BC Driver's License - Class 5 Full Privileged with an exemplary driving record
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
  • 6 months of experience working with people with behavioral disorders
