Job Title: Human Resources Officer

Sushi Jet Asian Cuisine is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Officer to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for administering staff consultation and grievance procedures, identifying current and prospective staffing requirements, and providing information or services to employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures to ensure a fair and respectful work environment.
  • Identify current and prospective staffing requirements to meet the needs of our growing business.
  • Provide information or services to employees, including employee assistance and counseling, to support their well-being and productivity.
  • Prepare and post notices and advertisements to attract top talent and promote our company culture.
  • Collect and screen applicants to ensure a thorough and efficient hiring process.
  • Advise job applicants on employment requirements and terms and conditions of employment to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Review candidate inventories to identify the best fit for our company.
  • Contact potential applicants to arrange interviews and assess their qualifications.
  • Notify applicants of the results of the selection process and prepare job offers to extend to successful candidates.
  • Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Negotiate settlements of appeals and disputes and coordinate the termination of employment process to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Supervise personnel clerks performing filing, typing, and record-keeping duties to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Recruit and hire staff to fill vacant positions and support the growth of our business.
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP degree in a related field.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Permanent full-time position with 30 to 35 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
