Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our culinary team at Palm & Pine Indian Restaurant Inc. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program in culinary arts or a related field (1-2 years).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a professional kitchen.
Work Environment

The role is set within a vibrant restaurant atmosphere, focusing on South Indian cuisine with a specialty in fish and seafood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate and manage food supply costs and labor expenses.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of food costs, consumption, and inventory.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including sous-chefs and cooks.
  • Develop and innovate new recipes while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals for regular service and special events.
  • Consult with clients for catering events, including weddings and banquets.
  • Plan and oversee food preparation activities across multiple restaurant locations.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate kitchen personnel.
