Role Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This position involves working closely with the Operations Team as part of an agile group of seasoned professionals responsible for the integration and management of our Public Cloud Infrastructure.

The contributions of this team, alongside our colleagues in various regions, are vital in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our IT systems, enabling our workforce to effectively utilize Public Cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adopt Infrastructure as Code principles and promote teamwork while adhering to a DevOps mindset.
  • Manage change requests, service requests, and troubleshoot incidents.
  • Engage in the technical execution of extensive GCP transformation and modernization initiatives.
  • Uphold team standards to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop, implement, and document automation processes to enhance platform management efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of activities and procedures as per established guidelines.
  • Provide on-call support as part of a rotation.
  • Be available for after-hours changes when necessary.
  • Implement best practices in cloud computing.
  • Support the acceleration of cloud adoption across all platforms.
  • Offer technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Participate in documentation efforts, including diagrams and resource management tools.
  • Collaborate with management to establish and monitor compliance with company standards.
  • Assist in resolving escalated issues and engage in problem management activities.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Networking or Technology, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in implementing and supporting Google Cloud (GCP).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Google Cloud VMWare Engine (GCVE).
  • At least 2 years of experience in supporting VMWare.
  • GCP certification(s) are mandatory.
  • Proficient in deploying infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
  • Experience with Agile software development and release engineering using tools like GitHub.
  • Familiarity with IaaS and PaaS components of GCP.
  • Strong customer service orientation with professionalism and approachability.
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage sensitive situations effectively.
  • Capable of identifying issues and contributing to strategic planning for departmental initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable in network administration and engineering in mission-critical environments.
  • Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec to facilitate communication with English-speaking colleagues.
  • No prior Canadian work experience is necessary, but candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
