We are in search of a Senior Data Analytics Developer who will be crucial in designing and implementing both real-time and batch processing data solutions. This role is a contract position with potential for extension or transition to a permanent role. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, offering the successful candidate the chance to work autonomously while also being part of a close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a desire to integrate modern solutions in a sustainable manner. Furthermore, they should be enthusiastic about identifying business opportunities that empower stakeholders to access and analyze data, facilitating informed, data-driven decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engage with business units to gather, document, and analyze user requirements, aligning them with technical specifications Collaborate with internal teams and business stakeholders to plan and execute projects effectively Partner with senior technical staff to enhance and optimize existing solutions and architectural standards Oversee the maintenance and support of all projects within the Operations Data Analytics team Mentor and assist junior and intermediate team members in their daily tasks Develop solutions for real-time and batch processing to manage operational data for analytical and reporting purposes Collaborate with Asset teams on data engineering and advanced analytics initiatives Utilize Python scripting to manage extensive data flows using Pyspark in an Azure Databricks environment Write complex SQL scripts, including logic statements, functions, triggers, and stored procedures Follow development standards and protocols, including data governance, change management, code reviews, unit testing, and documentation Gain a thorough understanding of business processes Design, develop, and enhance new and existing components for the Data Analytics portfolio Work collaboratively with other developers throughout the implementation of data engineering projects Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms for business stakeholders

DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT:

Utilize cutting-edge cloud technologies, including: Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure IoT and Event Hubs, Data Lake Storage, Delta Tables, Power BI Premium, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Server, Azure Analysis Services Manage high volumes, velocities, and variations of data Implement a robust Software Development Lifecycle: One-click deployments and upgrades Deliver impactful projects, both small and large scale Maintain strong planning and execution processes Collaborate with dedicated subject matter experts from the business for cross-domain knowledge transfer Access a diverse range of business challenges through projects for Asset teams, including Geosciences, Drilling, Completions, Development Engineering, Production Engineering, and Field operations Engage with various technology solutions, such as Real-Time Data Ingestion and Reporting, Traditional Batch Processing, Geospatial Data, Tabular Modelling, Power BI Premium, and Event-based processing Collaborate with our Advanced Analytics team on AI/ML project activities Enjoy a flexible hybrid work schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience At least 7 years of experience in architecting large-scale enterprise data solutions, preferably in the oil and gas sector Proven experience in building and deploying data engineering pipelines using cloud technologies (Databricks, Azure, AWS, GCP), with a preference for Azure Experience in developing secure solutions by managing access through Azure Active Directory and utilizing identity management Strong software engineering background with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark SQL is essential Familiarity with Lambda and Delta architectures for batch and real-time data processing Experience in creating dashboards and reports using tools like Spotfire and Power BI Experience with semi-structured and unstructured databases, as well as unit testing and continuous integration Ability to stay abreast of industry trends and implement innovative solutions to enhance existing architectures A passion for exploring and adopting new and emerging technologies
