We are currently looking for a Senior Data Analytics Developer to play a crucial role in designing and implementing both real-time and batch processing data solutions. This position is a one-year contract with the potential for extension or transition to a permanent role. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, allowing the successful candidate to work independently while also being part of a close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a desire to integrate modern solutions in a sustainable manner. Additionally, a strong interest in identifying business opportunities that empower stakeholders to access and analyze data for informed decision-making is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze user requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Coordinate with internal teams and business units to plan and execute projects effectively.
- Work alongside senior technical staff to enhance and optimize existing solutions and architectural standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and support of all projects and environments within the Operations Data Analytics team.
- Mentor and assist junior and intermediate team members in their daily tasks.
- Develop real-time and batch processing solutions to ingest operational data and prepare it for analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with Asset teams to execute data engineering and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Utilize Python scripting to manage extensive data flows using Pyspark in an Azure Databricks environment.
- Write complex SQL scripts, including functions, triggers, and stored procedures.
- Adhere to development standards, including data governance, change management, code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of business processes.
- Design, develop, and enhance new and existing components for the Data Analytics portfolio.
- Collaborate with fellow developers throughout the implementation of data engineering projects.
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts in accessible terms for business stakeholders.
Development Environment:
- Utilize cutting-edge cloud technologies, including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Stream Analytics, and more.
- Manage high volumes, velocities, and variations of data.
- Follow a robust Software Development Lifecycle with streamlined deployment processes.
- Engage in impactful projects of varying scales.
- Collaborate with dedicated subject matter experts to facilitate knowledge transfer across domains.
- Work on diverse business challenges with projects spanning various Asset teams.
- Access a wide array of technology solutions for real-time data ingestion, traditional batch processing, and more.
- Collaborate with the Advanced Analytics team on AI/ML project initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in architecting large-scale enterprise data solutions, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Proven experience in building and deploying data engineering pipelines using cloud technologies, ideally Azure.
- Familiarity with developing secure solutions through Azure Active Directory and identity management.
- Strong software engineering background with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark SQL is essential.
- Knowledge of Lambda and Delta architectures for batch and real-time data processing.
- Experience in creating dashboards and reports using tools like Spotfire and Power BI.
- Familiarity with semi-structured and unstructured databases, as well as unit testing and continuous integration practices.
- A commitment to staying updated with industry trends and implementing innovative solutions.
- A passion for exploring new and emerging technologies.
