Personal Support Worker

The Personal Support Worker provides personalized care and support to clients in their homes, promoting independence and well-being within the framework of VON policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assess client needs and develop personalized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Monitor and maintain client safety, including fall prevention and emergency response.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in personal support and home care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Personal Support Worker program or equivalent.
- Current Standard First Aid Certificate or CPR level C Certificate.
- Experience working with elderly or ill individuals or children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics.
