| Role Overview

As a Market Research Insights Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the research, analysis, and reporting of various departmental and project priorities for Payments Canada. Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing information, disseminating insights effectively, and collaborating with team members and leadership to provide actionable recommendations and strategies. You will work alongside a team of dedicated research professionals focused on enhancing Payments Canada's position in the payments ecosystem. The research initiatives align with the organization's strategic objectives, aiming to establish Payments Canada as a Center of Excellence in payments, clearing, and settlement knowledge.

| Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Knowledge Development and Communication: Staying informed and creating knowledge products based on a thorough understanding of ecosystem developments and research findings, and effectively communicating their implications to a wider audience.

Facilitation of Market Insights and Collaboration:

  • Sharing market insights with a broader audience and fostering discussions to enhance the research agenda;
  • Building relationships to encourage collaboration with internal stakeholders and engaging with external partners;
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of knowledge transfer strategies from Research/Market Insights to operational areas;
  • Coordinating updates and facilitating meetings with staff and stakeholders.

Content Creation and Strategic Engagement:

  • Generating and developing content and reports related to payments market intelligence;
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Market Insights team and providing consultative support to cross-functional teams;
  • Contributing quantitative and qualitative research for strategic foresight deliverables, including executive briefing notes and trend tracking reports;
  • Planning and contributing to the annual report on payment challenges and innovations;
  • Providing feedback on market research outputs, including the Payments Behaviour Tracker and the Canadian Payment Methods and Trends Report.

| Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in social sciences, research, business, economics, or a related field;
  • A minimum of three years of progressive experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research, including the development of research papers and presenting strategic insights;
  • Proven ability to establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and projects.

| Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset;
  • Experience in the financial or payments sector is advantageous.
