Job Title: Sessional Faculty - Mathematics InstructorJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced mathematics instructor to join our team as a sessional faculty member at Thompson Rivers University. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing learning materials and teaching lectures for a multi-level class of ABE English (MATH 0400 and MATH 0550).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality learning materials and lectures for MATH 0400 and MATH 0550 courses.
  • Teach and assess students in a classroom setting, providing individualized support and feedback as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, education, or a related field).
  • Teaching Certificate, Instructor's Diploma, or 5 years of teaching experience with evidence of engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Experience teaching students from diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
  • Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.
  • Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula.
