Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced sessional faculty member to teach mathematics courses at Thompson Rivers University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education and experience in teaching students with diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach mathematics courses, including MATH 0400 and MATH 0550, to students with diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
  • Develop and implement culturally appropriate curricula and teaching methods.
  • Integrate Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods into course materials.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in mathematics or a related field.
  • Teaching Certificate, or Instructor's Diploma, or 5 years teaching experience plus evidence of engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Experience teaching students with diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
  • Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.
  • Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods.
