About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Program Leader to join our team at the Village of Kingston. As a Recreation Program Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering recreational programs and activities for our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Planning and Delivery
    • Develop and implement recreational programs and activities for children and adults
    • Coordinate and lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs
    • Plan and carry out recreational, fitness, and sports activities
  • Program Coordination
    • Assist with the coordination of recreational, sport, and fitness events
    • Assemble supplies, sports, and game equipment
  • Program Safety and Risk Management
    • Monitor recreational, sports, or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with community members, staff, and stakeholders
    • Work collaboratively with other departments and teams to achieve program goals
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. recreation, education, or a related field)
    • Experience working in a recreation or related field
  • Certifications and Training
    • First Aid Certificate
    • Criminal record check
    • Child Abuse Registry check
    • Vulnerable sector check
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
