Position Overview
At Porter Airlines, we offer an exciting opportunity for an Aircraft Maintenance Operations Coordinator.

We are seeking Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who hold a Dash-8/Embraer E Jet Type Rating, along with a Heavy Turboprop or equivalent transport category aircraft Type Rating. This role is pivotal in supporting our fleet operations and ensuring seamless maintenance coordination.

Key Responsibilities
The Maintenance Operations Coordinator (MOC) plays a crucial role in technical dispatch, utilizing AMOS, our maintenance management system, to guarantee that all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks are completed and certified before aircraft dispatch. Key duties include:

  • Monitoring deferred defects as part of the technical dispatch process.
  • Collaborating with Operational Planners to manage Work Packs for overnight aircraft at main bases and outstations, adapting plans as necessary for aircraft swaps.
  • Engaging directly with flight crews and dispatchers upon defect reporting to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Assisting flight crews with Minimum Equipment List (MEL) procedures.
  • Coordinating AOG (Aircraft on Ground) road trips across the system, including logistics for parts, tools, and hangar space.
  • Working with third-party MROs when unexpected maintenance is required away from maintenance bases.
  • Liaising with engineering and OEMs for technical support as needed.
  • Updating aircraft weight and balance records through established spreadsheets and AOC software with each modification.
  • Monitoring the fleet for recurring defects.
  • Actively participating in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS), reporting hazards and incidents, and promoting adherence to the Company Safety Policy.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 or E rating) and have a proven technical background with a minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably with Dash-8-400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets or similar aircraft. Experience with various airframe systems, including electrical, navigation, flight controls, and turbine engines, is essential. Candidates should also be able to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and successfully complete pre-employment screening tests. Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime is required.
