Job Summary

We're seeking an Estimating Student for our Montreal district. As an Estimating Student, you'll contribute to our team by understanding and utilizing PCL's estimating manuals, systems, and forms.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing quantity survey assignments with lead estimators or Chief Estimators
  • Performing assigned quantity surveys
  • Giving quantities of major purchase items to purchasing departments for pricing
  • Transferring quantities to lead estimators
  • Performing general subtrade solicitation duties
  • Bid document control
  • Performing bid day assignments
  • Visiting job sites periodically
  • Developing relationships with subcontractors
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator

Requirements

  • A strong desire to work in a construction environment
  • Prior field construction experience is considered an asset
  • Application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role, and work location.
