Key Responsibilities
  • Familiarizing oneself with PCL's estimating guidelines, tools, and documentation
  • Collaborating with the lead estimator or Chief Estimator to review quantity survey tasks
  • Conducting assigned quantity surveys efficiently
  • Providing the purchasing department with quantities of significant procurement items for cost estimation
  • Communicating quantities to the lead estimator
  • Executing general solicitation tasks for subcontractors
  • Managing bid document organization
  • Completing assignments on bid day
  • Making periodic visits to construction sites
  • Building rapport with subcontractors
  • Performing additional tasks as directed by the Chief Estimator
Required Qualifications
  • Applicants should possess a keen interest in the construction sector, with prior field experience being advantageous.
  • Proficiency in various software applications is necessary, including word processing, spreadsheet tools, and drafting software.

Compensation for PCL Student positions is determined on an individual basis, taking into account completed academic terms, relevant work experience, type of position, and location.
