Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Student to join our team at Construction PCL Inc. as an Estimator Assistant. In this role, you will assist our experienced estimators in preparing and reviewing quantity surveys, bid documents, and other estimating-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating Support: Assist senior estimators in preparing and reviewing quantity surveys, bid documents, and other estimating-related tasks.
  • Quantity Surveying: Conduct quantity surveys and provide accurate and detailed reports to senior estimators.
  • Bid Document Control: Assist in the preparation and review of bid documents, including bid forms, bid schedules, and other supporting documents.
  • Subcontractor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, including soliciting bids and negotiating contracts.
  • Job Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure that projects are being executed in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to senior estimators, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a construction-related program or has a degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in the construction industry, preferably in estimating or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
