Position Overview

Edmonton Kenworth Ltd. is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor (Maternity Leave Coverage) for our Leduc location. The primary responsibility of the Health and Safety Advisor is to oversee and ensure compliance with all safety programs across EKW's facilities. This role serves as the corporate authority in upholding provincial OH&S regulations, providing essential support and guidance to management, supervisors, and employees alike. The Advisor will be instrumental in implementing safety programs that meet legal standards and can withstand scrutiny.

Key Responsibilities

The Health and Safety Advisor will be tasked with the development, planning, and execution of corporate safety policies and procedures that align with OH&S legislation. Responsibilities include:

  • Chairing various corporate Safety Committees and disseminating safety-related communications.
  • Conducting audits, safety inspections, and investigations, as well as leading toolbox meetings.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommending corrective or preventive actions.
  • Ensuring timely follow-up on the implementation of safety measures across the organization.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in health and safety roles.
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Designation of CSP or CRSP in good standing, or an equivalent certification.
  • Proficient understanding of applicable OH&S legislation, including recent updates to the Code.
