ChampionX has an immediate need for a **Health, Safety & Environment** Specialist** located in **Leduc, AB**.
This role will be primarily responsible for carrying out and coordinating the safety program, it will be based in a chemical manufacturing plant and will require working with others on various initiatives and safety related programs.

**Position Details**:
- Participate in the development, rollout and implementation of the health and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with department leads to competency checks and update documentation for continuous improvement.
- Help in raising awareness and implementing a positive safety culture within the plant and the teams.
- Lead the incident investigations, providing support for emergency response and audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Manage and plan emergency response drills and the necessary reporting and documentation.
- Conduct safety reviews for new chemical introductions.
- Process Safety Management - Develop SOP’s/Conduct PHA’s/Complete MOC’s
- Prepare and present safety meeting presentations on monthly basis in the Leduc Plant.
- Align with corporate safety policies on issues and program rollouts.
- Establish SHE training and ongoing yearly matrix data.
- Daily walk arounds in the plant, which may include some outdoors inspections.
- Other duties as assigned by Safety & Quality Manager.
**Position Details**:

- Monday to Friday position.
**Minimum Qualification**:
- 4-5 years of previous experience in a health and safety capacity.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to health and safety.
- Strong knowledge in occupational health and safety procedures and governing regulations (i.e., provincial, federal).
- Advanced computer skills with knowledge in MS Suite.
- Ability to follow regulations and keep up with recent changes related to Occupational health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks with set deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to carry out investigations with a problem-solving mindset
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
- Accreditation related to health and safety (i.e, CRSP).
- Process Safety Management knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Knowledge of environmental impacts and strategies for waste reduction.
