About the Role

Svante is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team as a Technical Lead for Gas Processing Plants. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, designing, commissioning, testing, and optimizing carbon capture gas processing plants for various industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design carbon capture gas processing plants for industrial applications
  • Support early engagements and technical discussions with potential customers
  • Responsible for all project-related basic process engineering deliverables
  • Develop block flow and process flow diagrams (PFD), heat and material balances, P&ID, utility flow diagram and requirements, major equipment specifications and sizing, general plant layout, and project capital/operational cost

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in development, design, and operations of chemical processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and process simulation software (Hysys and Aspen)
  • Strong technical background with process knowledge of gas processing and steam generation systems
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound recommendations

Bonus Requirements:

  • Experience working with solvent-based CO2 capture plants using Selective Chemical Absorption Solvents and Thermal Kinetic Optimization process or relevant experience in gas separation processing or gas power plants
  • Strong technical background with process knowledge of CO2 capture technologies

What Success Looks Like:

  • Technical lead from conception through completion, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule and to the required quality standard in Svante carbon capture projects
  • Prepare basis of Design document including design standards, site conditions, available utilities, emission and waste streams limitations, and overall performance requirements for the carbon capture system
  • Design greenfield gas processing plants, monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing process designs
  • Apply the principles of mass, momentum, and heat transfer to process and equipment design, including conceptual, scheme, and detail design
  • Perform process hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP) and assess the safety and environmental impact of the plant
  • Perform techno-economic analysis (TEA) and evaluate the capital and operational cost of projects during the pre-construction phase
