Position Overview:
The Real Estate division at Tim Hortons oversees a substantial portfolio of over 4,000 properties throughout Canada and the United States. This position offers an exciting opportunity to take charge of the real estate assets for Western Canada. The role involves close collaboration with the Tim Hortons Development Team and the Real Estate leadership, playing a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our real estate assets in both Canada and the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Tim Hortons real estate portfolio for Western Canada, with a primary focus on lease renewals.
- Negotiate lease renewals with external property owners, addressing market rates, critical lease clauses, and extension options.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with property owners, developers, and real estate brokers.
- Collaborate with legal advisors to finalize leases and amendments.
- Additional duties include supporting property acquisitions, sales, renovations, and the addition of drive-thru facilities.
- Prepare memos, updates, and recommendations for the Tim Hortons Real Estate Committee related to your portfolio.
- Conduct ongoing market and property assessments, including regular site evaluations and market inspections.
- Work in tandem with the broader Tim Hortons Real Estate & Development Team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Represent the Tim Hortons brand with excellence to all stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial real estate leasing is preferred.
- Proficiency in negotiating and drafting commercial leases.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the commercial leasing landscape, including market rates, landlords, large-scale developments in Canada, and general real estate trends, particularly in Western Canada.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- A proactive mindset with a strong ability to finalize deals.
