Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Office Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Patient registration, including appointment scheduling and confirmations
  • Handling phone inquiries, managing correspondence, and maintaining accurate records
  • Performing data entry and utilizing word processing, graphic, and database software
  • Compiling and entering statistical data
  • Drafting various forms of correspondence, including transcription and typing
  • Balancing and verifying financial transactions
  • Managing medical and surgical supplies, as well as other necessary resources
  • Assisting patients to examination and treatment areas, ensuring all required instruments and supplies are prepared
  • Supporting during sensitive examinations and routine measurements, including weight and BMI assessments
  • Cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment, along with managing the delivery and disposal of medical supplies
Application Requirements

  • A current Typing Test with a minimum of 40 wpm, completed within the last 24 months from an accredited institution
  • A valid Medical Office Assistant Certificate
  • A current valid BC Driver's License
  • Your updated Resume
  • A Cover Letter outlining your availability for the position
