About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient counseling, medication monitoring, and student mentoring. They will also have experience with drug utilization reviews, liaison with community pharmacists, and education/drug information. Additionally, the candidate will participate in clinical pharmacy research and contribute to the development of evidence-based clinical practices.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who is a graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy and is eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting, preferably with a hospital pharmacy residency program. They will also possess strong teaching and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

The successful candidate will be able to prioritize work responsibilities, work well under time pressures, and demonstrate a commitment to professional development and lifelong learning. They will also have the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients
  • Conduct patient counseling and medication monitoring
  • Mentor students and participate in clinical pharmacy research
  • Contribute to the development of evidence-based clinical practices
  • Collaborate with community pharmacists and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
