Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage and maintain financial records for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting principles.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting between 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years, but less than 3 years of relevant experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare payroll cheques.
  • Assess fixed assets and manage depreciation schedules.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial records and balance various accounts through both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Oversee general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
  • Post journal entries accurately.
  • Compile statistical, financial, and accounting reports as needed.
  • Prepare and file tax returns.
  • Generate trial balances for review.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in accounts.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience using QuickBooks.
Work Environment
  • Access to public transportation is available.
  • Ability to manage repetitive tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure.
