About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Custom Wood Furniture Craftsman to join our team at Kohinoor Looms Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality custom wood furniture pieces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training
    • Ensure that all apprentices receive proper training and guidance to develop their skills.
  • Design and Planning
    • Study plans, specifications, and drawings of articles to be made, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Woodworking and Finishing
    • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units, reinforcing joints as needed.
    • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, preparing and applying laminated plastics as required.
    • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Work Environment and Safety
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise other workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Estimation and Repair
    • Estimate costs and materials required for projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
    • Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products, as needed.
Requirements
  • Language
    • Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Schedule
    • 40 hours per week, with a permanent employment contract.
  • Experience
    • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of woodworking and furniture making techniques.
