Warehouse Inventory Associate

Status: Permanent - Full time (35 hours / week)
Department: Procurement Department

The Kativik Municipal Housing Bureau (KMHB) is dedicated to providing safe, comfortable, and affordable housing tailored to the needs and culture of the Inuit community. Through its various programs and services, it plays a vital role in fostering vibrant, sustainable, and secure communities.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the guidance of the Inventory Coordinator, the Warehouse Inventory Associate is responsible for the organizational and transactional aspects related to materials, equipment, and storage, while also serving as an internal auditor for inventory and equipment management across all communities.

  • Maintains the organization, cleanliness, and upkeep of storage and outdoor areas of warehouses in all communities, adhering to the established layout plan;
  • Conducts location tagging for all materials and equipment within the warehouses;
  • Implements coding and rotation of materials and equipment;
  • Manages the receiving and shipping of goods between communities and from suppliers;
  • Inputs all inventory transactions into the inventory management system;
  • Communicates inventory transactions to community staff and monitors them;
  • Alerts the Procurement Officer regarding any incomplete requisitions;
  • Prepares documentation for inventory transfers to third parties for invoicing;
  • Adheres to recognized laws, regulations, and procedures concerning hazardous materials management and workplace safety;
  • Conducts periodic inventory counts of materials and equipment in accordance with the established sampling plan;
  • Completes inventory adjustments as necessary in the inventory management system;
  • Executes the annual inventory of materials and equipment and reports findings to the Inventory Coordinator;
  • Receives and verifies merchandise from sea and air shipments in all communities, following the established sampling plan;
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues in the maintenance and procurement departments and within the communities;
  • Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Inventory Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience / Knowledge

  • High school diploma;
  • Forklift operator's license (preferred);
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in inventory management (preferred);
  • Familiarity with the WHMIS system (an asset);
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Valid territorial driver's license;
  • Ability to communicate fluently in two of the three languages (English, French, and Inuktitut).

  • Willingness to travel to various communities;
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors.

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS

The KMHB offers a competitive salary, benefits, and favorable working conditions. The starting salary is $ 24.43, with potential for higher compensation based on relevant experience.
